I am 66 and have been a Windows user since I have been using a computer (about 20 years). So when I first started up this Chrome OS, I thought I hated it. It was so simple that I initially couldn't find anything. In trying to install Norton, I found out that this OS system doesn't need it as it doesn't get viruses-only Windows get viruses-who knew?? So right off I am saving $75 a year for Norton. I have been using my chromebox for about 2 weeks now and I am very pleased with it. I had to call for help at one point and Asus was easy to get through to and they were helpful. It turns out that you can only download from the Chrome store. (no Google play). It was frustrating that there isn't a mail program available that you can have all your accounts in one place and you can't import to G-mail. I can still easily access my Outlook accounts though and the slight inconvenience of having to sign in and out for my 2 accounts can be overlooked as this system is so fast. It has frozen on me a couple of times (usually on TMZ or if I have too many tabs open) but I can shut it off and it re-boots in seconds!! So, if you are like me and want a fast computer for doing simple things like emails, shopping and reading articles, I think you would really like this.
Update: It's been a little less than a month and the freezing up has become a bigger irritant. It freezes on pages with lots of content like TMZ or allrecioes. I thought I could overlook it as all I had to do is restart it and it was fine for a few hours. The re-start process was so much faster than with Windows I thought I could live with it but then thought that was silly. So I called Asus and they went over some things and that worked for a little while but then it was back to freezing up. I had 3 days left before I could return it to Amazon so I called Asus again and they wanted me to send it to them and they would fix it and send it back. They said it would take about 2 weeks. Amazon could have a new one to me in 2 days so I decided to return it. I will add another update after I have used the new one. Even with these problems, I really wouldn't like to go back to Windows.
